Tom Murley

Tom Murley has a 25+ years of experience in financing renewable energy projects and development companies and has participated in the financing and acquisition of over $10 billion in energy projects. Tom attended Northwestern University and Fordham University School of Law. He began his career as a lawyer in Boston and New York and became involved in renewable energy in 1991 as the general counsel of biomass renewable developer. In 1993 he joined Ares/EIF Group, one of the first energy infrastructure funds and he opened their London office in 2000. In 2004 he founded the renewable energy business of HgCapital one of Europe’s leading private equity houses, where he raised and invested over $1 billion in equity funds for EU renewable energy projects. He has served on the boards of the UK Green Investment Bank, Norwegian Wind Energy Association, Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, Ameresco (NYSE) and Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (LSE).
