JCM Power Awards its First School Bursary in Salima, Malawi

JCM is proud to announce that in March 2022 we awarded our first school bursary to Yvone Banda of Sadzu Village in Salima. Not only does JCM aim to empower women in our workforce, but we also aim to empower women within the communities surrounding our renewable energy projects.

Yvone has started Form 1 at Mkwero Community Day Secondary School. Previously, Yvone would spend her days assisting her mother by tending to neighbour’s gardens to earn a living and be able to purchase food. The school bursary allows Yvone to focus on her studies and eases the burden on her mother to earn enough money to pay for school fees. The bursary also includes funds to provide Yvone with a new school uniform, shoes, school materials, and sanitary pads.
